Plain-language scope

This is a practical privacy summary for What’s Building Near Me. It is not a lawyer-reviewed privacy policy. It may be updated as the product, providers, and features change.

What we collect

• Address searches, selected coordinates, and generated report data.
• Report public identifiers, secure access sessions, and short-lived access-link metadata.
• Stripe checkout/session/payment metadata, including payment status.
• Customer email if provided through Stripe, checkout, support, or update-watch purchases.
• Technical, security, abuse-prevention, and rate-limit logs.
• Mapbox-related address-search and map-display request data.
• Covered public city record data and official source links included in reports.

Why we collect it

• Generate report previews and paid reports.
• Process payments through Stripe Checkout.
• Provide access to purchased reports and purchased 30-day update-watch alerts.
• Respond to support, privacy, access, or deletion questions.
• Debug technical issues, protect the service, and prevent abuse.

Service providers

• Vercel hosts and serves the app.
• Supabase hosts the report database and public-record data used by the app.
• Stripe handles payments. This app does not store full card numbers or card security codes.
• Mapbox may process address search and map-display requests.

Report links

Paid reports use secure browser access sessions. A clean report URL by itself should not open paid content without a valid session or short-lived access link. Do not share access links publicly.

Cookies and similar technologies

The app may use strictly necessary cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for site operation, security, checkout/report access, and preferences.

We currently do not use advertising cookies, behavioural advertising pixels, or optional analytics/tracking cookies. Because no non-essential tracking is currently loaded, the app does not show a cookie banner. If optional analytics or marketing cookies are added in the future, they should require consent before being enabled.

Email use

Emails are used for transactional, report, payment, update-watch, security, and support purposes only. Update-watch emails are service emails for customers who buy that tier; they are not marketing emails. We do not send marketing emails unless a user separately consents.
